Whittier Pacific Care Center is a nursing facility located in the Greater Los Angeles area, tucked away off of the San Gabriel River Freeway and between both the Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital and the Whittier Hospital Medical Center. Our care center offers a range of specialized services, as it is our goal to tailor our medical therapy programs according to each individual’s needs in order to help them reach their optimal functioning capabilities. Approved and certified by Medicare, Medi-Cal and HMO Plans, our care is complex, yet rendered in a friendly, warm, and family like atmosphere.
As a leader in rehabilitation therapies, we offer a special comprehensive program for strokes, hip fractures, and other medical conditions which includes physical, occupational, respiratory, and speech therapies as well as restorative nursing, nutritional counseling, gait training, exercise programs, audiological assessments, and neurological rehabilitation. Additionally, our care center offers family education and counseling to keep you informed, updated, and sure of your loved ones progress.
Offered with a personal touch from our wonderful staff, including those involved in our volunteer program, we offer a variety of options to keep your loved ones’ life vibrant and dynamic while under our care. This includes a beauty and barber shop, religious services, movie matinees, holiday parties, community outings, and other various group activities. In addition, we offer a private room for family council meetings, a common area with an available television, and spacious patio areas to enjoy barbecue night and other mealtimes! Supervised by a certified dietician, the meals available consider therapeutic diets, special menus and cultural preferences with each resident given the option for both Restaurant-Style or In-Room dining service.
Among our diverse services, Whittier Pacific Care Center offers high levels of complex care typically only available in an acute Hospital in our Subacute Unit. As one of the few specialty programs accredited by the Department of Health Services, this unit offers ventilator dependent care, complex tracheostomy care, complex medical and pulmonary care as well as IV, TPN, and respiratory therapy with, if appropriate, an available weaning program.
